The CRU2 is a current reduction module that is designed to work with low current DC voltage electric locking devices such as cylindrical locks, mortise locks, panic trim or strikes that are being used in a “fail safe” or “unlock cycle” condition. When energized, the CRU2 allows the device to receive full current long enough for the solenoid to retract. Once retracted, the CRU2 limits the current for the solenoid to remain retracted as long as is needed. While limiting the current, the CRU2 sends an occasional high frequency pulse to ensure that there are no “re-locking” issues. This prevents failures due to door misalignment or prolonged lever engagement by the users.
Features:
- Allows “continuously on” low current devices to run cooler, increasing the life of the solenoid and reducing service calls
- The CRU2 provides a small current boost to offset some of the voltage loss associated with long wire runs
- Current adjustment allows for “fine tuning”
- No hassle 3-year warranty
- Increased solenoid life
- Low current draw
Specifications:
- Operating Voltage: 12 to 30 VDC
- Maximum Amperage: 1.0A
